Summary

To plan, buy and ensure the availability of the right materials in the right quantities to assigned production areas and to purchase components, supplies and outside services for the company consistent with established quality, cost and delivery requirements.  To collaborate activities and information with key suppliers and other appropriate personnel while taking a lead role in teaming with all appropriate entities to resolve issues.

Description

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate business or technical field.
  • At least 4 years of related purchasing experience, most of which must be in a precision manufacturing environment involving both mechanical and electrical operations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with a computerized “MRP” system, regularly used software and the internet. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Ability to identify and lead process improvements within the supply chain department and across other departments within Tolomatic as it relates to supply chain initiatives.
  • Strong negotiation and planning skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a high-paced environment
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of company personnel, vendors and others.
  • Ability to demonstrate cost savings, timely delivery and adequate quality in the purchase of assigned items and services.
  • Knowledge of custom machined components and industries is a plus
